LPW has been pioneering the use of laser deposition solutions since 2007 and in that time has worked with some of the leading industry organisations and academics in the field. This combined knowledge and experience together continues to develop innovative processes and turn concepts into reality.
LPW was originally established to provide application support and powders to users of Laser Deposition and Powder Bed Additive Metal Manufacture machines. This is still our core knowledge. However, at the request of our clients, we have developed a complete range of optimised metal powders specifically for Laser Metal Deposition (LMD), Selective Laser Melting (SLM), and Electron Beam Melting (EBM).
To continue to lead the development of new and better powders for Additive Manufacturing, LPW reinvests 10% of our annual turnover in Research & Development. This investment varies from developing new alloys and new ways to characterise metal powders, to improving packaging and environmental sustainability.

Main Contribution to CORSAIR
Leader of WP4, LPW are responsible for the characterization, specification, and supply of CS powders. The powder characteristics required for successful CS and the sourcing and processing of this powder will be determined and the results used to provide a benchmark to standradise CS powders. LPW will determine the optimum size and morphology of powder required for CS and maximize the amount of material which is useful form production to minimize cost and environmental impact. The handling and safety issues associated with CS powders will be addressed and the shipping, handling and packaging requirements determined. LPW will liaise with end-users and its current supply chain to develop optimized powders for CS applications.
